This is just something i really "hate" when searching info and opinions about the Sony A550
Although it's good to know that the lcd is better than the others ... what really matters is how the camera is ... IQ ... sharpness, noise ... all that.
I mean, i'm "afraid" that people are focusing too much on the LCD Smile detection, HDR and all the other "good to have but not sad if i miss those features" to find arguments against the other aspects that REALLY build a great camera, as the IQ, the focus accuracy and speed, the noise ... the noise in RAW files, the RAW files ....
It's nothing personal ... i mean ... it's just that, everything i read is like reading someone "criticizing" a point and shoot camera ... and i'm afraid of that :P
" Oh, the lcd is wonderful ... "
" And the Smile detections is really great feature "
" And the HDR... great great "
Now... something like
" Hey, the raw files are amazing ... it's really great to see how little noise it has and how sharp and detailed the images are .... " - this is what i'm missing :D
So, Leave your comments and opinions about the camera in terms of IQ, sharpness, focus speed, RAW IQ, comparing with other cameras you had. This way we can start to have a "feeling" if the A550 is a really great camera ... or ... if naked of all those cool "glad to have" features and jpeg engine ... it really isn't that great of a sensor :P
I mean, good sensors create good RAW files right? :)
Give me your 2 cents and don't take anything said above personal ... it's just the way i think :)
