I have never posted my pictures up on this forum before, but I thought it would be nice to show the kinds of pictures that I have taken since I first bought the camera.
But first I would like to explain how I landed with Sony.
Firstly when I was looking for a camera, I was initially going to buy a high-end point and shoot, but after looking around I was surprised at how expensive these compacts are, when I could buy a fully-fledged dSLR for only about 200 dollars extra. It took me ages to choose the camera that was right for me, and I didn't really care about the brand. I was simply looking for something with great image quality and features vs price. Straight away, Canon and Nikon were out of the picture simply based on price (cameras in Australia are insanely over-priced). That left me with 3 options in my price range at the time - The Sony a300, the Pentax K200d and an Olympus model (which i cant remember). The a300 immediately struck my eye, when it came to the live view. On the other hand, the K200d was, in my opinion far more comfortable, and its weight gave it a solidity that the a300 couldn't compare. But again, I was a new to the dSLR world, and live view was just something I couldn't live without, especially after reading countless reviewers praising the speed of its auto-focus. So I bought the a300 kit, along with a few freebies chucked in (like a close-up filter, cheapo tripod, etc) and man, quickly enough, photography got increasingly addictive. Over the last yr I have been able to save some coin for a couple of lenses - a minolta 50mm prime, a sigma 28-200, and my current favorite, a 50mm macro. So here are a few of my favorite pictures.

Things I've Learned:
- Don't underestimate the importance of a good viewfinder.
- High ISO may cause problems, but it doesn't bring the death of a picture.
- Prime lenses are awesome.
- Light makes all the difference.
- Never let tech-envy get in the way of getting the most out of what you already have.
- ...and a lot more!

Things to consider with my next camera (whenever that may be):
- The viewfinder size will be high on my priority list.
- Comfort plays a big role
- Quicker fps will be nice
- More direct-access buttons

I hope you enjoy.
