I just took out my Max 7 film camera and put my 50 1.4 on and compared it with my a700.. The viewfinder on the Max 7 is huge compared with it, plus the nice 50 mm view instead of 75.
My complaint too is on the wide end. Here Sony comes out with a nice Z24-70 2.8 and you lose the 24mm to 36mm on the a700.
That's why I want FF.. It's difficult and expensive to make fast wide angle lenses for the 1.5 crop factor.. I mean constant 2.8f maximum.. I use my Sigma 20mm 1.8 which becomes a 30mm, still fast but I prefer a wider angle.

I have a sigma 17-35mm. 2.8-4f and its ok, but not that sharp. Again when its on my a700 it becomes a 25mm.. and not fast enough..

Also I love my 85mm but it is too long for a lot of places where I would use it.

I know the crop factor is great when you want that extra reach, but for weddings its a pain.. I have a nice minolta 28 f2.0 that is a great lens and don't use it much because it turns into a 42mm,, kind of a no mans land.

I don't know,, still bumming.. thinking about a d3.. duhhh

I wish the a900 would come out or we could here the real specs on it.. come on sony throw us a bone!
