A700 - verdict???

Well, it looks like quite a few members here have the A700 and are at the moment playing with their new toy (JEALOUS!!!) and some have been nice enough to post some sample shots.
Seems to me that the general tone so far is this:
A700 is a better camera ergonomically, better/faster/more accurate AF, and LAZYEYE (FLASH) problems seems to be resolved, however, JPG images (standard) seems to be a bit soft, but XFINE JPG comes close to the RAW file.
So instead of a cheer from this forum, it seems that most of members here are giving the A700 a poor verdict based on the JPG results...?
Me, I'm going to reserve judgement and wait for Phil's review and if the STND JPGs are a little soft, then hopefully the XFINE JPG images will be good enough to stand on it's own merit and if so...
I'll be ordering an A700 for my very own...
