Hi,
I love to use my FA limiteds at f/1.8, but the focus accuracy of my k10d at that aperture is nothing fantastic, at least anymore - maybe my AF sensor needs cleaning.
The K7 with its Safox VIII+ system is supposed to be much improved. But what about the K-X autofocus system? It is listed as Safox VIII, the exact same system in all the other Pentax DSLRs to date including my k10d. Should I expect an improvement here?
I upgraded to the k10d from my istDS, a camera with AA's, and was very happy to switch to the much simpler, lighter and more reliable lithium battery pack. At the time, Pentax claimed they needed to go to a proprietary battery for AF speed and accuracy - does that mean the K-X is a step backward in this regard, or can it get all the voltage it needs out of NIMH AA's for fast AF, unlike my slow old *istDS?
And, finally, how does the K-X compare to the K7 in terms of accuracy and speed if there is anyone out there with enough experience with both bodies to comment?
Thanks! Looking forward to any input,
-Matt
