I was just wondering how the K7 + Pentax DA*300mm f4 + Pentax-A 2X-S teleconverter would work together. These are wide open on the lens, handheld, focus trapped, shot in RAW and converted to JPG with ACR. then resized for the web. No other post-processing was done. Not too bad IMO. Sorry that I don't have any birds to shoot at right now.
EDIT: Hard to handhold with the K-7. I think it will be much better when I get the grip. These kinds of shots, with this kind of setup, are a peice of cake (handhold wise) with the K10D or K20D

I usually determine that a lens is sharp enough if I can read the writing on the lock taken from this distance when cropped to 100%. http://ronbrandon.com/brandc/pentax/K7/pentax_da_300mm%20_f4/pentax-a_2x-s_tc/test_da300_2x-s_110709_img_05.jpg ; ; Cheers.
