Hi all

Just a quick question if anyone can help. I'm in the market for an "advanced amateur" DSLR and the Nikon D90 seemed to fit the bill. However, I called in at a local store today and they're selling off the K20D with the 18-55mm lens for £450, compared to the D90 at £785 - a considerable difference!

I know the K20D has been superceded, but for what I'd like - a good solid camera with great metering, flexible controls and capabilities to take my photography to a higher level - would it be a good buy at this price? Main image types are landscape, I'd like to get into bird images, and sticking the camera on the back of a telescope for astronomical imaging. I also use the camera for simple product shots, but these are mainly web quality.

Should I buy the K20D and use the money saved to buy a decent lens, or are the latest cameras so much better with regard to image quality?

Thank you
