At the, ahem, "other" forums (which I know a lot of the readers here frequent), there's a contest with the theme of "Your Best Shot." I've been racking my brain for what criteria to use and of course searched the forums here for inspiration. Betsy just had a thread about this same subject about three months ago, and there seemed to be no real conclusions. I was struck by this line from Sir_Bazz:
>For me it wasn't a "real" request to submit my best picture ever but to submit a picture I felt may be viewed by others as someone's best picture ever. Thats the nature of photo challenges.
That really seems to be the crux of the issue for me.
A lot of other good points were brought up in that thread, like if you turned the question around and could only KEEP one photo you've taken, which would it be, but that questions hurts my head even more.
So what I'm asking here is what criteria would you use to determine your best photo to submit to a photo challenge, and can you even make that determination yourself, or would it be better to have other people determine that for you? As an addendum, if anyone would like to slough through the 3,500+ photos I've posted on flickr and pick one for me, I'd be game :) -- Keitha McCall
