I am looking for a solution for wildlife (mainly animals with occasional birds) shooting in Africa with a K10D. I have used my F*300mm and cropped with so-so results. Need more range and would like to continue using the F*300mm if a solution with a TC, either 1.4 or 1.7, is better than cropping. There was a thread on this subject in 2007 but images are no longer available. Seems the conclusion was too much loss of contrast/color using a TC. I would appreciate any info/comments you might have to offer.
