Hi All,
I use an a cheap Slik Pro 3400DX, with a pan-tilt head. The main reason I bought this (a long time ago), was its availability and the fact that I could afford it. However, the Pan/Tilt head is cumbersome to use, and the tripods height is rather limited. So I started looking through B&H's catalog, but there is a bewildering array of products and you can easily spend a fortune on tripod + head.
I use my tripod mostly for landscapes (hiking involved), I'd like to explore multi-exposure techniques a bit more, and I certainly wonder whether you really have to spend upwards of $300 for a ball-head?
I thus wonder about your experiences with tripods, and would be grateful for some pointers what to look for in my next tripod.
Cheers
Uli
