I have successfully shot many handheld HDR pictures with my old K100 D using three frame Auto bracketing, plus or - 2 stops.
I also use one frame HDR for portraits, derived from raw pictures. I never use tripods because I'm usually shooting on the street and exotic locations.
After reviewing k7 image data, it appears the sensor is much more limited in dynamic range prohibiting single frame HDR like what I did with my old k100d camera.
The KX has a much improved sensor, unfortunately they have crippled the A bracketing feature! ( it only does plus or -1 stop in its three frames ).
Oh well, maybe they will install a better sensor in the k7 ?
