Being overly sarcastic doesn't really help any situation. You must understand that there is a huge number of people that own this camera now and have had no problems, compared to a very small number that have had problems. We're talking about a percentage of defective camera's per total sales being in the minor decimals of a percentage point. If you think Nikon/Canon/Sony etc have a smaller percentage of defective camera's on delivery, you are honestly kidding yourself.

As I previously said, I work here at the distributor, but do not voice opinion on their behalf. I know enough to say that from walking into the service department and asking around that there haven't been any major complaints; only a lot of people asking about issues that they've read on the forums. The tech department are yet to receive one for repair.

Pentax reads the forums, why do you think the K30D wish lists from a year ago is now in our hands as the K7? Users have gotten almost everything that they asked for.

It is of course inevitable that due to these forums that they will be testing and retesting their cameras in normal and extreme conditions, and the second batch will be hitting distributors shortly and will most likely have had a looking over. It's quite a sad case because the camera is a stunner; a massive leap over the K20D, which is somewhat hard to swallow since I bought my K20D not more than a year ago, but quite a good thing nonetheless.

Act mature in the situation. The camera has only been on sale for a month, and these "issues" were not brought to light during the preproduction testing and camera shows whereby all distributors received a large amount of test cameras to use. Pentax, after a month of selling a new camera, is not going to admit a problem publicly that will make thousands upon thousands of users feel uneasy about their perfect purchases, just because of the few problems that have arised in a few users and has become popularised in the forums. If there is a problem, you will hear about it, but thus far in Australia, there isn't a reason to be worried about going out and buying a K7. Mine came from the from that dreaded 'first batch', and all is peachy keen.
