Oh by the way, some of you state that the K20D is just a few tweaks on the K10D. Well ofcourse, what did you expect.... K20D is "just" the next in line.
How many "hmm that is not what I expected" posts were ther when Canon went from 20D to 30D, from 30D to 40D?
Same with Nikon upgrades.

The only true big step next in line upgrade is Oly , with the E3 as the successor to the E1 but that took them 4 years. That period makes me think that they had an inbetween model, the E2 but that never materialised.
For good comparison one should look at the step form the K10D to the K'30'D.
