Here's another idle musing about a camera...
Won't it be great to have a totally manual DSLR for $150? What do you guys think?
So, K100M. "M" for manual.
Here's what I'm thinking.
1. 6MP Sony sensor like the D/DS/DL/K100D 2. No SR. 3. But cleaner photo at ISO 3200 (or even 6400). It'd be great to have a photo at ISO 6400 that's equivalent to D/DS at ISO 3200. 4. No AF. But auto focus confirmation could be useful. 5. Instead, a nice focusing screen to help with MF. See this thread for what Jonas was talking about.... I haven't seen it, but it sounds good. http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1036&message=26272638 6. Small light body like *ist D, if not smaller or lighter. Under 500g? 7. Manual controls similar to *ist D (except for ISO control) 8. Auto ISO (like K10D) 9. ISO control like K10D, i.e., push OK button and front e-dial, instead of like ist D. 10. RAW only. 11. LCD with color histogram like K10D 12. 2" or 2.5" LCD is enough. 13. TTL capable 14. Flash Sync speed of min 1/180. 1/250 would be great though. 15. SV mode like K10D. 16. Pentaprism view finder. 17. ISO info display in the view finder -- this is one other thing I wish was present in ist D's view finder. 18. 3fps (even 2.7~2.8 fps is enough), but it'd be great to have the buffer for at least 9~10 frames. 19. SD or CF. (I actually like CF though.) 20. Powered by AA. (If there's no AF, how much power does a DSLR need?) 21. Dust removal system (like Oly's instead of shaking the sensor) 22. PC Sync terminal
Thanks.
