Please don’t expect me to give you a scientifically proven technical evaluation of this camera. That is simply not the intention of this post. The intention is to share my experience with forum members.
So, here it comes;
The good:
-Fantastic high ISO – even though I never really used it.
-Precise auto focus – even though I find myself making a minor adjustment
manually here and there.
-Great image quality in JPEG – but I use RAW

The bad:
-Painfully slow writing speed – but I’m not in any hurry.
-Continuous shooting(?) – Almost not existing, but I have no intention of using
my camera as a machinegun.
-Only 6MP – Yeah… Soooooo?
-What else is there???

The important:
In the past 12 months the K100d gave me previously unimaginable joy. Gave me a reason to go outside and explore. I’ve learned how to observe and to see things from different angles.
I feel I’ve finally found what I’ve been looking for in the past. I feel that I found a hobby for myself that I can do inside or outside. I could go alone or with my like minded friends to a shootout. I can do it in summer or winter, in pouring rain or in sunshine. If my budget is low I can stay in my neighborhood or go to far away places when money is not an issue.
IMHO photography is the perfect hobby and the plan is to stay with it forever.

I have to admit that it was (and still is) an uphill battle. I’ve learned a lot, but I need to learn a lot more. And you guys are great! I’ve learned a lot from you and I hope I will learn even more in the future.

Am I going to move up from the K100 and get something that is faster, better, smarter? Of course I will! Not in the near future though. IMO, first I have to earn the right to move up from here.
What are my plans for the next 12 months?
Only one thing! I’ll desperately try to avoid being the male version of this sharp shooter!
