Kindly asking for help!

I will receive my new K10D with a 16-45mm in about two days. While waiting I have bought a 70-210 and a 50mm macro. Now, to still my hunger I just need another one (famous last LBA words), namely a Pentax 300mm. I can't afford a 2.8 version but looking for an older lens of f/4.0.
Ignoring MF/AF and PK/M42, are they all reasonably good, or are there any versions I defenitely should stay clear of?

I have a hard time finding anything on the web that can tell about the differences in IQ.

Any comments would be highly appreciated.
