Just for note, I've got a K100D, and I really enjoy it. I have glued a 43mm limited lens on there and it's the best thing since sliced bread - and I LOVE bread!
That said, I went to a friend's house yesterday, and they just bought the D40 kit. NICE CAMERA! Made me remember why I loved my N75 film camera -
Small, light, fast, quiet.
Shutter was whisper quiet compared to the K100's ker-lunk, Speed was AWESOME - focus motor was whisper quiet, locked fast, Body was small but really easy to handle.
Lucky for Pentax that Nikon has such a crappy assortment of lenses available for the D40, and no < 50mm primes. :-) I really hope Pentax comes out with new bodies in a year or so that aren't so Edsel like in their electronics & ergonomics.
Anyway, back to shooting with the Edsel. :-) -Dan
