Thanks T for answering Joseph’s question.

Yes there are two pins, one shiny steel pin in the base that is spring loaded and the other is a black plastic pin, ( the one that should be visible in the first picture ) is the one that causes all the problems by its absence.

Because it is so fragile it break’s off and so the fixing lever can no longer lift the steel pin from its location hole in the top of the camera as it has nothing to push up on.

If your flash still has the plastic pin you will see if you look at the front of the flash as you turn the fixing lever it pushes up on this pin as it lifts the steel pin.

I can’t remember but someone asked can we confirm this does not affect the electronics. The answer is NO it definitely does not affect the flash in any other way.

Thanks for all the replies guys and gals, it seems it has helped a few with the discussion and that was the main aim.

One last thing can someone post a picture showing the flash with the plastic pin still in place, that may clear things up a bit more for some.
