Phil's tests only showed that it produces JPEGs with soft edges when the processing mode is set to "natural", which is what the natural setting is supposed to do. When you switch the K10 to "bright" and compare with the K100 (which Phil praised for "crisp and detailed" images), both cameras produce virtually identical results. When you switch the K10 to "bright" and compare its output with "normal" mode of a Nikon D80, again the results are quite similar, with I think perhaps a slight edge to the Pentax.
