After days and days of research I was ready to go out and buy an FZ8 but then I ran across some images posted on Flickr by another FZ8 user. The photos were taken indoors (candids) and of typical childhood indoor sports (basketball, dance recitals, etc...) with and without a flash. The IQ was worse than what I get out of the cheesy camera on my cell phone sometimes, so I am assuming that the user put it on Auto and used the default settings.

I am replacing an Olympus C-4040Z that takes pretty decent close range indoor pictures without a flash and was hoping to do the same with the FZ8. My budget doesn't quite allow for the move to a DSLR right now and the FZ8 fits well with my typical outdoor subject matter (classic cars, animals, bugs, my kids) but I'm concerned with how it will perform indoors.

I know that the NR appears to get in the way once you get over ISO 200 and that changing the setting to Low tends to help. Other than shooting all indoor shots in RAW and processing them afterwards, are there any suggestions on ways to get good quality indoor shots (with and without the flash) with the FZ8?

Thanks.
