Subject   So, EZ in FZ30/50 is NOT just cropping!  [SIMILAR]

Motivated by a recent post about EZ (extended zoom), I made some test with my FZ50. And I am very worry about what I found.

I took 3 full zoom shots with identical configurations:
Tripod, 10 seconds timer, manual exposure, manual focus (SAME for the 3 shots), F5, 1/10s.
One at 10M, one at 3M and one at 2M, the last 2 shots at full EZ then.
This is what I got (I couldn't believe it, so I took another series with IDENTICAL results):

Two conclusions:

1) This one is certainly known by most of you: 2MB EZ is ***NOT*** "only a crop, hence better for metering, focusing, storage, etc". It's a DOWNsampling!! Hence it is an ANTI digital zoom with respect to the 3M!!! So 2MB EZ DOES NOT EXIST, it's just reducing the resolution of the 3M EZ. I looked at the manual, and confirmed the zoom is the same and the resolution lower. What a shame! I took zillions of shots in 2M EZ already! I saw many of you posting 3M EZ instead of 2M EZ, and I always wondered why...

2) This is MUCH worse: The 3MP EZ is blurry with respect to the 10M!!! My other test showed the same result! If some of you can confirm this, will be a BIG shame...
