I'm pretty much settled in on using Spot AutoFocus mode all the time since, to date, I've never gotten a well-focused shot to my satisfaction using the 9 or 3 point mode. However, in back of my mind, I think there must be ideal times for using the 3 area and 9 area modes. Can you please offer the type of photo taking moments when you would use either mode? For example, do you use the 9 point mode to photograph birds in flight and, if so, why and what factors into your decision to use this mode?
