Hello,
I've been checking the available material on EOS-1D Mk IV, as this is the camera that interests me the most currently. On the below page, I noticed discussion about a feature called Orientation linked AF points:
http://www.usa.canon.com/dlc/controller?act=GetArticleAct&articleID=3107
Questions regarding this feature:
1. Do you think it is useful? To me, it sounds like a very useful novel feature. Currently in my 5D, it is fast to change the focus point with the multi-controller when changing between landscape/portrait, but it would help if this was automatic. I mostly use the top-right focus points when shooting people.
2. Do you know if the focus point is highlighted when it changes so that I know when it will change? What if I orient the camera to around 45 degrees?
3. Has this option been available before? If I'm correct, this is new to Canon at least. How about other cameras, i.e. is this a Canon invention?
4. What is your current method to change the focus point when you change from landscape to portrait, or vise versa on a 1D?
Thanks!
