I am currently using a 5D mkII as primary for my weddings. I also have used 1D mkIIn, but that is now gone because I want another fullframe. My main gripe with the 5D mkII is that I find the outer focus points pretty much un-usable and was wondering how these work on a 1Ds mkII?

I want to be able to use outer focus points for moving targets like bride and groom walking towards me. Also when shooting portraits with 5D2 +85L I find that the outer points are not reliable.

So I would like to hear from someone with personal experience with 1Ds mkII and now if the outer points are in fact more useable.

-thanks
