I am in a difficulty to understand why Canon needs two different 1D bodies and/or choices. Is it too hard for Canon to make a single FF 1D and include an optional 1.25x crop mode? Well some might consider the fps with the mirror size but Nikon does it with a FF mirror at 11fps (of course in Dx mode but whatever, the mirror larger than 1dmkIV's mirror moves 11 times in a second). Also 0.76x magnification is the same with current 1dmkIII so new IV has even a smaller viewfinder than 7D.

I think the new 1dmkIV should be an excellent camera, make no mistake. I am sure this might even be a dream camera for most pj, sports and wildlife photographers. But why dont we have a FF single 1D body acting like a HF on crop mode with 10 fps?

Am I missing something here? From a technical point of view?

Feedbacks are welcome.
