Why so many excuses in the Nikon reviews? These are just a few from the D3 review (there are others.) There are also many other like them in the other recent Nikon reviews. The bias is getting out of hand now.

"Although you can see fall off in some shots with some lenses, whether or not it's seen as a 'problem' (one that's common to all larger format sensors) will vary from user to user. It's easy to remove (and can now be fairly effectively removed in-camera), and in most situations simply won't be an issue."

"D3's lower pixel density means it offers better dynamic range anyway (even if you don't see anything like what it's capable of in default JPEGs)."

"but for less demanding enlargements you're not going to see the resolution advantage."

"If you turn up the in-camera sharpness on the D3 (or sharpen this image in Photoshop) the differences in detail captured and overall sharpness disappear."

"but the differences are so minimal (especially considering they're taken with completely different lenses) that there's really not a lot to say here."

"There are slight color mapping differences any difference in detail or sharpness across the frame is almost certainly down to the optics on the front of the camera."

"Of course whether you actually need that much resolution is another matter altogether, and will vary from photographer to photographer."

"but to be honest once you've added a bit more sharpening to the D3 files (which they take very well) the difference is minimal"
