I'm currently wavering between Canon and Nikon for my DSLR purchase. The current deal on Amazon puts the XSI with 18-55 and 55-250 lens at $636.74 A kit on ebay with the D90 + 16-85 VR lens (and a bunch of extras) can be had for $1450 - bing cash back of 8% = $1,334. That means going with the XSI leaves me basically $700 for better lenses and accessories. I realize the D90 body is more capable, but have read that it makes more sense to spend your $ on glass. The 24-70L 2.8 looks great, but that would push the XSI kit above the D90. Are there any third party 2.8 lenses that you would recommend that are less costly? I also considered the T1i, but don't think I would use the movie feature that much and from the reviews, it doesn't appear image quality is much (if any) better than the XSI. Thanks in advance.
