Hello, Just got my Tamron 17-35 Di from 17th Street Photo and set up a simple comparison between it and a 3 month old 17-40L. All shots from tripod mounted 10D, same location, settings, etc. http://www.bytephoto.com/photopost/data/500/22reference.jpg The crops are all at 100% with no sharpening from raw images. Distance was 3 feet. Draw your own conclusions. I am keeping mine. By the way, there is no zoom creep when the lens is pointed up or down.
