My 50 1.4 lens broke which I use for taking shots of my grandchildren. I have the 100 macro and wondering if the 85 1.8 would be a better choice for portrait lens. I do not want to fix the 1.4 since others have noted its breaking is a common problem.

Thanks for any suggestions.
