i'm already over budget (50d & 24-70mmL) but i've been searching the web to find a "cheap" wide angle lens for low light situations. my 24-77mmL lens is great but it's big (and as important, it's heavy). at the moment, the cheapest lens i can find that seems to be in the ball park is the EF 50mm f/1.8 II for about $95 http://www.amazon.com/Canon-50mm-1-8-Camera-Lens/dp/B00007E7JU/ref=sr_1_36?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1257322573&sr=8-36 . i'd prefer something like a 24mm but i haven't found anything that's "cheap".

it's very possible that there is no good wide angle/low light lens for under $300 but i thought i'd ask.

so i have two questions:

a) is the 50mm lens above a good buy in your opinion and
b) is there a lens that i've overlooked?

thanks.
