I got to play around with on the other day at a store here on my 500D/T1i. It seemed good, but not THAT good. Everything I've read about it says it's ultra sharp and super awesome in pretty much every way. But for some reason, when I'm inside that store, and I take pics on any lens, they aren't really flattering.

I'm thinking about buying it, but I don't know if I can justify the $500 pricetag (here in Japan) when my current most expensive lens is the 55-250 and it performs really well in such a wide variety of situations.

Any input is appreciated! Thanks!
