Okay, well I'm off to Nepal in November and I'm planning to do an over-haul of my photography kit before I go.

I currently have:
*Canon 350D
18-55 Kit lens
70-300 'el cheapo
50 1.8 prime.

The 350D has served me well, my main gripe being that the grip is too small. I've had a lot of fun with it but now that a Canon with full HD video has come along within my price range, I've decided it's time to move on.

So I'm pretty set on the 7D but I want to do a lens upgrade at the same time. I live in Australia and can claim 10% GST back if I go overseas within 30 days of purchase so it's a good excuse to buy all this expensive gear at once.

I mostly use the 50mm and have decided that I like the pin-sharp pictures you get with primes. I find that if I use zoom lenses, I'm using them at one of their extremes anyway.

So my plan is to buy:
*100mm f2.8L IS Macro.
10-22mm EF-S.

I chose these because they can do things I am unable to do currently (ultra-wide and 1:1 macro) and they seem pretty good quality (especially the L lens). Also, I'll have a good range covered by sharp lenses (10-22, 50 and 100)

I checked out the other aps-C ultra-wides but I didn't see any that matched the low level of distortion found with the Canon lens. Maybe I'm wrong?

Anyway, I'm no expert on such matters so I posted up here to get your thoughts and ideas.

Cheers.
