After calibration of my 12Mk2N and 500/4, the combo is spot on. They adjusted the body and the lens for back-focus. In fact they replaced some lens assembly in the 500/4.

However, notw it does not work as well with the Canon EF 1.4X II teleconverter.

In adition, my 400/5.6L front focuses terribly now. The 400+1dmk2n was taking sharp photos before the 1dmk2n was sent in. I have already sunk over $400 into calibration. Sigh.

Here iare a couple of quick and dirty focus tests with the 400, all near minimum focusing distance (images are inclined about 45 degrees, you can guess where front is). I reckon it fornt focuses by about 3/4 inch - worse than the back focus I had with the 500.
Will it ever end!
