Hey Sigmites!

As some of you may know I purchased a Sigma 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM from adorama back in August but had not yet recieved it as of a couple weeks back. I contacted Adorama today and finally got the news I wanted to hear. I spoke to the head customer service guy at Adorama and he told me this (paraphrasing): Sigma has a 6 month waiting period on this lens with 6 people in line for it from Adorama alone (not including BH and all the other great new york camera stores). The only way this man could even get this info from Sigma was by approaching them at a conference held in New York about a week ago, all other attempts Adorama made to get this info was shined on by Sigma up untill this point. So this is a good thing to know that Sigma has not cancled this lens for Sigma cameras, which was my worry since it has been off shelves for the most part since June 09, but this means I had to switch my order from the 50mm to the 30mm f1.4.
Adorama is giving me this lens for 40$ off, rushing the order to be shipped today even though its probably around 5:00-6:00PM for them by the time they do it and I dont have to pay tax because its out of state hehe. All in All I wish I could have had the 50mm f1.4 but in reality I already have the canon 50mm f1.4 USM and the Topcor 58mm f1.4 RE-Auto (which someday I will modify to M42). Those of you interested in getting Sigma's 50mm have a long wait ahead of you but I recommend getting it pre-ordered just incase it shows up around the launch of the SD15 because I have a feeling if the SD15 sells to New customers the 50mm f1.4 and some of the newer 2009 release lenses will be very popular for it.
