I was reading a review in the British Journal of Photography on the Canon G11...and I got to a bit which said....
"This is a concern and Alamy, for one, recently published a camera blacklist; those cameras it feels simply can't deliver the file quality it requires when scaled to the minimum 48MB. Alarmingly this list includes the Sigma APS-C format DP1"
http://www.bjp-online.com/public/showPage.html?page=870271
So I went to the Alamy site...
http://www.alamy.com/contributors/unsuitable-camera-list/unsuitable-sigma-list.asp
Which basically lists the whole range...
Now I find this curious, especially given the output size we've seen from recent Sigma's when printed out at....but more so for me, when I look at the 'recommended' camera list, and see the likes of my Olympus E410 camera listed....but NONE of my other cameras...I really must own loads of duds!
I also wonder, were all the previous, and probably slightly lower MP'd, semi-pro and pro cameras really that bad, or is this a case of raising the bar of contributions?
What about all those potential contributions not suitable, because the 'moment' was caught with the wrong camera, surely the best camera at times is the one that you have with you?
