I'm shooting a new model in about 2 weeks, and I'm a bit rusty on lighting, as it's been about a year and a half since my last shoot (new job makes me travel around the world alot)
These shots are from SHOW magazine, I'm going to post a lighting diagram after each shot, to show how I think it was lit, please feel free to let me know if I'm wrong, and how I would go about trying to duplicate the lighting.

my guess at a setup: http://i34.tinypic.com/xcu1sh.jpg
How I think it was done: Rose colored background softbox on both sides, 45 degree angle ringflash for main model
background was smoothed out in photoshop afterward.
Second shot: http://i34.tinypic.com/ea63hk.jpg
my guess at the setup: http://i35.tinypic.com/alke4w.jpg
how I think it was done:
haven't figured out the background light... either 2 softboxes, and then a vigneete applied to darken the edges, or maybe snoots or softboxes with grids.
Beauty dish to photographers left, probably 6-7 feet up
softbox for fill on camera right
photoshop smoothing done to background and model's skin.
anyone think differently?
Thanks.
