A few weeks ago, while taking some pictures in the evening's dim light, I noticed something a little odd. Particularly, they had an area on the left side of the frame where the image was seemingly lighter and redder. Some further testing indicates it gets worse with higher ISO settings. See the examples below (just quick shots of the dirty carpet by my desk)... ignoring the fact that one of them is very yellow from using AWB, the lighter area on the left is clearly visible (especially on the ISO 800 sample, which is the yellower one). I can also actually see this effect on the LCD before I've even taken a shot (in dimmer light, when I presume the camera is cranking up the ISO for the viewfinding function).
I assume this is some sort of CCD defect, and that I'll probably have to send the camera in for repair... but I'd appreciate it if someone could do a similar test shot (ISO 400 or 800, no flash) to see if perhaps this is "normal" behavior (I can't imagine that it is, though).
Thanks!
