Hi all,

Got my MuVo2 4GB today, for your information it had "hard drive by Hitachi"
written on the back of the enclosure and the player itself. It took about 5
minutes to get the 4GB microdrive out.

Be sure to use a Phillips screwdriver that fits perfectly otherwise you risk
damaging the screws and then you'll have a hard time opening the case
without damaging it. Also you'll need a smaller Phillips screwdriver for the
four screws inside. You have to initially put enough downward pressure
on the screws so that the screwdriver doesn't slip and then ease of the
pressure so that you don't damage the threads in the plastic case.

When refitting the screws do not overtighten them, a sure way to damage
the threads.

The drive seems to be a genuine Hitachi 4GB Microdrive, Model
HMS360404D5CF00, P/N 13G1766 (Made in Thailand), same model
numbers as on Hitachis website (www.hgst.com).

Thanks to napmobile for pointing out that the 512MB Sandisk CF card
actually worked, I also tried several cards with no luck before reading
napmobiles message.

The Sandisk 512 MB CF card used was the standard version, ie. no Ultra II
or Extreme.

Follow the procedure lined out by Jack_DC in this thread to get your
MuVo working with a new drive or CF card.

The 4GB Microdrive was formatted in the camera (EOS 300D) with no
problem and I now have room for 523 pictures i RAW mode and a 512MB
MP3/WMA player.

Good luck!
