I'm off to a 3 week trip to Myanmar tomorrow and caught this issue just in time....... I purchased the latest 120x CF1 4GB Transcend card very recently, and then put it thru some basic trials today - with alarming results.

The card can write and was able to review the images in-camera. But when I attempted to transfer the JPG images to my (1) my desktop, or (2) notebook, or (3) Smartdisk PSD, the images were transferred as corrupted files and the file images in the CF card also became corrupted - garbled id's were being substituted. On most occassions, I couldn't even review the files.

I reformatted the card and repeated the trials several times, and also with another Sandisk Extreme3 2GB CF1 card. The Transcend 120x was consistently delivering corrupted files and the Sandisk consistently delivered properly.

I returned the Transcend card to the agent today with my explanations - and they took it back and gave me a full credit. The suspicion is that there's a bug in the Transcent firmware.......

I used a Nikon D200.
