Hello everyone,
we all went as a family to watch my eldest daughter take part in a gymkhana at her riding school this morning... I took the E-3 and 50-200mm SWD lens just in case, and in the end, just took a single burst of her taking this jump :
Whoops... photo coming in next post.
Afterwards, the *excellent* owner and chief instructor of the stables approached me, and embarrassed, informed me that no photographs were allowed... even of our own children due to new rules imposed on them (presumably by the nanny state, obsessed with the fear of child abuse)
Has anyone else noticed such a tightening of rules? I've been taking photos of my own children for years... will this be banned in all organised events?
I hope there's a way back from this ridiculous trend... the only problem is, I'm not confident that any future government will give up the tightening noose around our civil liberties. I was stopped in a *car park* the other day, for using my mobile phone while the car was in motion... a police officer walked up to my car (it was moving *that slowly*) and knocked on the window - I had to explain that I was switching the damned phone off before moving away - not using it to make a call.
Sorry guys, rant over... I love my country, just hate the way it's changing - whatever happened to personal responsibility? I'm trying to teach my kids that it's not what you can get away with, it's what you *should* be doing that counts!
Kind Regards
