LiveMos sensor boasts greater individual pixel size by virtue of simplified on-chip IC interconnections (to make room for larger pixels). That should translate to better sensitivity and high ISO performance. But that needs to be seen. If this has a clean ISO 1600 on par with the current top APS sensors, I'll be thankful that it is not a 10+MP camera. I need cleaner high ISO a hundred times more badly than more megapixels beyond 4MP.

Switchable (with an easy to access button!) Dual mode viewfinder:

Mode A is what many have guessed. Pivotable LCD for real-time display. The real-time image information comes from a 0.8MP live view CCD (so the primary sensor is a 7.5MP MOS type, while the ancillary sensor is a much smaller CCD). That is of course more than enough resolution for even a top-notch 2.5" LCD which typically has 0.25MP pixels. The LCD refreshing rate is under 100 ms (0.1 sec).

Mode B is probably the biggest surprise (not to mean it has greater significance than Mode A, but just that few have guessed.) When activated, the mirror is locked up. And the alternative viewfinder displays image information directly from the 7.5MP LiveMOS. So it's an EVF, and with 100% FOV (field of view). Even though the camera has an optical mirror path but that is for lower resolution Mode A on the LCD only; At the same time, it is an EVF all right, but it gets the image information directly from the primary high quality 7.5MP LiveMos sensor. That should have a lot of potential. Will see. So the name LiveMOS has some going for it.

By the way, bonus permanent mirror-lock-up (MLU) in Mode B, do you hear that? Olympus users will once for all stop discussions whether a particular camera model is high-end enough to merit MLU. In Mode B, MLU is there, permanently, until you switch to Mode A. You don't even need to do anything in Mode B to get MLU. And most of all, you don't lose the viewfinder when the MLU is activated.

The camera screams for all-speed flash X-sync, but there is no information available for that yet. If yes, I'll definitely buy one.
