Recently I bought a second hand Fuji S5pro for a good price and the seller offered me an old version tamron 28-75 F2.8 @ the same time for a price which made it difficult to resist... The 28-75 F2.8 backfocused so badly on this S5pro body though that it became totally unuseable. With Nikon lenses this S5pro AF was dead on...
I tried this lens on my D700 and although less dramatic, it was also backfocusing badly.
After AF fine tuning which I did in this way,... http://www.fotografie.fr/fotoforum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=482&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
...*this lens turns out to be really amazingly sharp, also wide open...* AF fine tuning apparently makes former unuseable lenses turn out to be great...
What is also very attractive to the older tamron 28-75 is the AF speed on a D700 body compared to the newer version with built-in AF motor. The newer version is significantly slower on D3/D700... -- Kindest regards, Stany http://www.fotografie.fr/ http://www.fotografie.fr/fotoforum/index.php
I prefer one really good picture in a day over 10 bad ones in a second...
