Since having my D3 2 months ago, I've been craving to get some good lens to go with it, but at the same time, not keen to spend so much. Therefore the famed trio of 14-24/2.8, 24-70/2.8 and 70-200/2.8 is out of the question.

During my D70 days, I've been using the old Nikkor 75-150/3.5 Series E with great results. Since I've sold it years ago, I finally decided to get another one from eBay.

Despite the below par build quality, this lens seriously outperforms some of the best (and probably 10-20x more expensive) lenses today, and I only got it for USD100 including freight!

The front and back bokeh is one of the nicest!
