I've recently purchased a D3 and now shooting both Canon and Nikon. I've read a number of threads about the NX software and after having loaded and used it I do like the results but can't handle the processing that I must do daily with the speed and setup of NX.

Tonight I created two xmp files that match color and luminosity of NX with my two choices of raw converters. Those being ACR and Capture One Pro.
THIS WAS DONE WITH CS3 - so don't know if these will work with CS2

This setup is strictly for shooting the D3 with the SB800 flash. MB color chart was used for color matching and a whibal was used for white balance.

Please feel free to download these two xmp files and then apply them to any of your flash shots using the D3. Would love to hear some feedback on how well it works for you.

Most of my flash shots only needed a slight tweak in white balance after applying the xmp preset. The other thing I noticed was ACR is blowing highlights with the default curves setting compared to NX and Capture One Pro.

For those who are not familiar with applying presets copy these to files to your
c:\documents and settings\"your name"\Application Data\Adobe\Camera Raw\Settings

then when you open camera raw you can go to apply preset and choose either one.
