Somewhat following on from Roman's earlier thred with regards large prints, and his interpretation of how large you can print from a D2X file. Roman say's that he can get a very acceptable print up to 30x45", but who would find the quality of the print acceptable?
I personally can't get past 18x22 without the print starting to fall apart at close inspection, and by that I mean within a couple of inches. Its all very well printing large providing the image is only going to be viewed from a relative viewing distance of a few feet, but if the image is going to be seen close up and it falls apart.. what does this say, not only about the image, but also the artist/photographer?
If such print sizes that Roman says are possible with the D2x, and that he finds acceptable were the normal, then we wouldn't have a need for anything else, and all the fine art landscape photographers would have shifted over to the Nikon D2x a while ago.
