Nikon's new 1.1 or 1.25 or whatever the crop factor will be, is already being touted as the new DXII format, irrespective of how "close" it is or not to full frame. The fact is this new DXII format will NOT be full frame.

If Nikon trounces Canon with the DXII format then how long do you think Canon are going to keep producing the more expensive full frame format when there *could* be no appreciable advantage anymore???

While I think there is still a little life left in the 'ole full frame format for now, as a mainstream solution I believe the writing could be on the wall.

We'll all have a much better picture of things when we finally get to see what is about to arrive on the scene from Nikon.
