here's a tip that might help you guys and which may solve the problem with the s2pro/d100/f80 misfocussing

I have a problem with my s2pro being JUST ABIT OOF which causes unsharp and soft images and also I feel that it is easy to get OOF images as the camera locks on wrongly.

here's what I found and I need independent confirmation if this improves your results

for the center focussing box, the sensor isn't across the box

NOT -------> [+]

but it is more like THIS --------> [_]

it is along the bottom line of the box, try to use that for your focussing.

and if you try to take a vert shot, imagine where you would usually focus on, (especially for face shots) you can see y the shots are easily OOF

I take no credit for this discovery, I found it hidden in some thread in some other forums, (which I forgot), but no one seems have picked up on it.

pls confirm and let me know, think it should apply to d100 and f80 users too
