I am sure in my own mind that there will be no Fuji DSLR replacement after the S5 but of course the future is a long time and things can happen to refute my viewpoint. But I just wanted to say that I am the owner of an S2--never went beyond that--and I still use it weekly to get images (JPEGS) that never fail to amaze and excite. I do mostly studio fashion and glamour work but some oiutdoor landscape work as well; the skin tones, colour, smoothness of the imagery, dynamic range etc etc still provides images that always satisfy both my models and clients and...myself. The camera has never needed any repair since I bought it when the S2 was first introduced--I have never cleaned the sensor in any way--not even blowing it off with an airbrush. I guess my mainly studio use and habit of mostly keeping a Nikor 35-70, 2.8 lens on it helped in that respect. Still the camera has functioned perfectly in all that time. Right now the door to the lithium battery compartment wont open and so when those batteries are dead I will have to take the camera in for the first time for a minor repair. Happily Fuji, Canada assures that me they have spare parts and will gladly do the repair. It has been a totally worthwhile connection with Fuji and I am really sorry that the DSLR era of that company now seems to be ended.
