Did a shoot yesterday in inclement weather. It was drizzling during the early part of the shoot. I was prepared for this and brought the 1DMKIII and the Storm Jacket. It was very, very windy to use lightstand(s) and Pocket Wizards TT5s so instead I used a flash bracket and Lumiquest Softbox III for closeup shots.

I am extremely ecstatic by the performance of my 7D in terms of IQ and AF performance. The only drawback was during the shoot it locked up on me. I tried everything from shutting the power off to taking out the batteries and turning on again still no avail. I did not want Aysel to be standing for a long time in windy and cold conditions thus I whipped out the 1DMKIII and shot with it. After a couple of wardrobe changes I decided to turn on the 7D again and this time it worked so I shot with it the rest of the way.

Battery report (with vertical grip): I shot close to 1300 7D images (love using high fps for movement!) in four hours in maybe 6-9C temperature (it felt colder with the gusty wind conditions). I checked the readout and both batteries are showing 79%.

I brought zoom lenses than primes because of the inclement weather. I did not want to change lenses while it is drizzling. Both lenses are awesome to use with the 7D. I was never afraid to shoot at f/2.8 with these and IMHO the 70-200/2.8 L IS just plain rocks with the 7D!!! From my observations it seemed like at wide open aperture the sharpness is on another gear compared to my other DSLRs.

I shot RAW + Jpeg (Portrait) but todate I only been processing the jpeg files.
