I recently upgraded from an XT to a 40D. I love love love the way the camera feels in my hands. bulky, big, feels heavy, expensive. its a beauty. then i started shooting photos with it and i'm a little concerned about something and i dont know if i'm crazy or if i have reason for concern.

Many of the photos I took today look... its hard to describe... but they look kind of Hazy. when i zoom in to look at some of the detail of the photo, it looks hazy... not sharp detail.

i am shooting with the 28-135 kit lens, so i thought, well, this must be the lens... i guess it sucks. SO, i switched it out and used my 50mm 1.8 Lens which has strong reviews and has always served me well on the XT. and... same problem. some photos are better than others, but many look hazy to me.

my sister in law was on the trip with us and using my old XT... i uploaded th epics she took with the XT and the cheaper 18-55 kit lens, and all her pics seem much sharper and richer in color. also, my photos look a bit more underexposed than hers.

so what do you think? is it my lens? should i be concerned? its not all the pics... but many look odd to me for some reason.

also... the LCD screen isnt impressing me so far. the images dont look as crisp as the much smaller XT screen. i love this camera so much... i am hoping that this is all in my head.

p.s. the image about is a full crop... so u can see how hazy it seems when i zoom in. all images were taken at ISO 100. mostly in either aperture priority or shutter speed priority at apertures of 16 or higher. many aperture 22 so the whole scene would be in focus. i am wondering if theres just something i'm doing wrong.

several images seem fine... but others look odd to me. whereas all of my sister in laws XT images seem fine.
